Love can lift you up, making you feel fully alive. Food tastes better, flowers smell sweeter, so they say. Whether or not you’re a believer in the transformative power of love, most of us agree that we want to share our lives with someone special. Cloud Romance hopes to unite single people from East Africa, in the hope that they’ll find a special bond, potentially for life.

It is an easy site to register with and use, making it very friendly for beginners to online dating. You can easily create an account with photos, and quickly get browsing profiles. Whilst it doesn’t offer all the bells and whistles you might find elsewhere, you can chat to members using email or live chat, and you can search specifically for people who want a long term relationship, if that is what you’re looking for.

We had plenty of matches when we performed a basic search, and all members need to upload a photo, so you can see what each member looks like. Many members have uploaded multiple photos and, if you like someone, you can let them know by leaving a comment about their picture. This is a nice gentle way to flatter someone and encourage them to visit your profile page.

You can include a fair amount of information on your profile page, although there’s not a lot of space for you to add additional information. A lot of the data you can provide (such as relationship status, employment, religion and so on) is selected from a drop-down list, which is a little restrictive. Still, the basic layout of information means that it’s easy to find the information you’re looking for, which is especially important if you want to meet someone of a particular religion or political belief.

Once you’ve found a few members you like to talk to, you can start to develop a catalog of friends, meaning that you can easily find and speak with them in the future. If you’re new to the site, or just looking to meet new people, you can see who is online when you are. Although not everyone will be local, you ought to find that a lot of members are from Kenya or other parts of East Africa.

The site also has a dating guide, with a few hints and tips dotted about the place. However, it lacks community features such as a chat room or forum area, and there are no video options to take advantage of. The cost of joining is low in comparison with many online dating sites, so it shouldn’t break the bank. 

Whilst Cloud Romance might not have everything for everyone, it does a good job in most respects. It will be particularly useful if you’re not really interested in lots of unusual features and extras. We’d recommend trying out the free registration before paying for the service, especially if you’re not living in Kenya, as you might find that membership numbers elsewhere are a bit lacking. There are, however, plenty of members on the site, many of whom seem well natured and genuinely interested in finding a loving relationship.
