NigerianDating.com is part of the WorldSingles group, which has a large number of members. It has all the basic features you’d expect, including the ability to upload photos and chat to members, but unfortunately it is difficult to register and not always user friendly. In other aspects the site is pretty basic and underwhelming, although we were impressed by the amount of detail you can provide on your profile. 

Our biggest problems came at the very beginning of our experience with Nigerian Dating. Registration took a long time because you are asked a lot of questions about your lifestyle, personality and beliefs. This is, in some ways, very handy. For example, if you wish to get accurate matches or make sure that you find people with similar political views, this information will prove very valuable. However, after entering all the necessary information we were simply given an error screen. Well, we’re nothing if not determined, so we tried again. Same problem. And again! Yep, you guessed it, another error. Hopefully you have better luck because it took us a long time and a lot of filling out the same old information before we got things rolling.

Searching for members is very basic and needs to be improved to help you locate the sorts of members you’d hope to find. However, once you do locate a profile you like the look of, there’s plenty of information to help you to understand what a member is like in person. Each member can upload up to 20 photos although the quality of each photo is quite low. We’d prefer fewer high quality photos so you can get a proper look at other members. Although much of the information you provide on yourself is useful (what you like to do on the weekend, how you spend your money and so on) some of it seemed silly, such as offering “bellybutton” as your “best feature”. 

Prices remain something of an annoyance to us as the upgrade page refused to load for some time. Still, it is free to sign up, assuming you can get through the bugs. This doesn’t bode well for the overall experience you might have on NigerianDating, though. Whilst the site is meant to focus on dating in Nigeria, it also extends to people with Nigerian heritage, and more beyond. So, pretty much anyone can use the site for dating. If you’re stuck then you can check the FAQ page, although we generally found it to be pretty useless.
